2010 Audi Q5 Roof Rail socket location?
Hey everyone,
I am trying to remove the cargo roof rails. Where in the world is the socket that removes/loosens the bolt ? I have looked everywhere..ie the pouch with all the tire removal tools, glove box, the side rear compartments....still no luck. On a 2010 Audi Q5.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Craig

I keep mine in the glove box. It is a plastic T-shaped wrench, with the special "socket" that fits the bars. It also has a built in "torque" indicator to let you know when you have applied the proper amount of torque. (A simple white line on the side that slips at a certain torque).

Found this old thread which explains how to order a new one.

to answer your question: mine was "loose" with the rack (which wasn't installed) when I took delivery...

Mine was just thrown into the little cargo net in the back on both of my Q5's. I would imagine that sometime between 2010 and now, someone moved yours. My guess is that it is on the work bench, on the left, towards the middle and tucked under the paper towel holder of in the original owner's garage.
