Air filter replacement
I know this has probably been talked about more times than I care to know. But I did not find a direct thread, so just bare with me. I was wondering what brand of replacement air filter you are running? I see there are the normal players; K&N, Fram, Hastings and REVO. Has anyone had better luck with one or the other?

If you're considering a K & N just visit a big box store like Lowes or Home Depot and buy a section of window screen instead. Window screen is much less expensive, flows great, and filters air almost as well.
And will also destroy an expensive engine if you live in an area with a lot of particles in the air.

Sir,
I use a Afe Pro 5 filter....works great. Was recommended by the SQ5 guys.
Afe Pro 5 Filter Oiled PN# 10-10121
Afe Pro 5 Filter Dry PN# 11-10121
Can also use
ITG Profilter PN# BH-273
K & N PN# E-1987
These are filters posted will work on both SQ5, TDI engines and I believe the 3.0T as well.

I would go OEM. K&N talks big, but if you ask them for a look at the real "increased horsepower" numbers to back up their claims? You may hear what I did on my last car. "Oh, we never tested that one. We have no plans to." And a fellow owner with a manometer DID test one, and found it was no better than OEM.
