Getting The Gear to Appear When in Sport

Getting The Gear to Appear When in Sport
Guys,
I notice that when I move the shifter to 'M', the gear selection shows itself.
But, when I move the gear selector to 'Sport', the gear selection is replaced with a simple 'S'...and I never know what gear I'm in.
Is this something the dealer can fix for me?
I ask, because I'm about to bring the SQ5 in for its 65K service...and I thought maybe the tech could make the adustment; if it's possible.
Anybody know if this is possible...I find it quite annoying not to know what gear I'm in!
Thanks,
Jason

Yes, it can be enabled using VCDS or Carista app. I guess the dealer could do it too, if you have a nice dealer that is willing. Most of them refuse as it's additional work for which they don't get paid. Maybe bribe them with donuts?

There is a way to display the gear when in D, but I've never put mine in S so can't say for sure if it appears there as well. I would assume it does.
Will the dealer do it? Maybe, maybe not. They aren't big on making changes like that. I changed mine with VCDS.

Rice,
So nice of you to offer!
I have a business in Williamsburg...and would prefer to offer you the donuts, rather than my dealer!
Gotta' love this site!

Guys/Gals,
I just brought my car in for the 65K service, and mentioned the question about having the gear appear when in Sport mode...and they did it for me at No Charge!
Nice people at Palisades Audi in Nyack, NY!!
Jason
(satisfied!)

Nice! That's definitely "above and beyond" considering it's not a configuration we get here so they don't have to do it (and might not know the coding to use, assuming it's not an accessible checkbox or something in the VAG tool).
Definitely a configuration that I wish was official here, though, because it's very handy to know what specific gear you're in prior to overriding (and accidentally downshifting too much or something).
