Oil Change Questions.
Anybody knows what the oil drain plug on the 2014 Q5 2.0 Premium Plus looks like? I thought it is supposed to be torx type, but this kit I'm planning to buy from ESCtuning has the socket type. This is my first oil change diy, just want to make sure this is the kit I should get. Thank you very much. Do I really need to swap out the drain plug anyway?

Looks like they've gone to a standard hexhead bolt, to make life easier for the typical US owner who won't have a custom security tool to remove the gen-you-whine part. Given the choice, I think I like the idea of a standard hex-head bolt instead of needing Yet Another One Trick Pony to remove the gen-you-whine part.

Did the oil change over the weekend. Everything seems to be easy, just more time to remove all the screw from the bottom panel. One weird thing I found that the dipstick is just a cap, I guess it doesn't come one since you can check the oil level from inside the car. Also, the message "Service Due" would not go away after the oil interval reset. I guess the dealer has to do this part?

I wonder if Carista could get rid of the reset messages?
The "diptube cap" can be replaced by a real dipstick. Any dealer can get you the part number, expect to spend something like $25. If your dealer tells you "Oh, that is impossible, they are not made for this car" you will know you've got either in incompetent or disrespectful dealer and it is time to find another one.
