If you post your location or fill out your profile someone local to you may actually reach out to you with VCDS and reset your service due in less than a minute after plugging in. Just sayin.

[CHORUS:]
Why beg a favor every year when you can just ante up, what, $20? Once? And then use Carista to deal with the damned nag light every time, every year.
Or of course, sell the car before it needs to be reset again.(G)

Redd,

Korean language, while it is not hard to learn, it is not one I am very interested in. Several translation apps help on the way, but nothing beats talking to the dealer on your native language, whichever it happens to be. I will look into the Carista cube and app. Was looking at the VAG scanner at ECS Tunning, seems like a discount alternative compared to the Ross-Tech cable as well... maybe for later.

rdA4WtQ5,

I'm in Seoul, South Korea... not holding my breath on finding someone with a cable to do a solid here. I think I can try the Carista and get through for now.
Thanks!

Carista is available in Colonial English, so I'm not sure why you'd need to learn Korean. The Vag Tech software, with or without their cable (and the associated issues) is going to be way more money and, at least from RT, way more powerful

I speak a smattering of languages with varying degrees of rust, including Horse and Dog, although not much Cat. But I only speak one word of Korean: Kimchee. (G)

Never planned to visit there, so I never had any reason to learn the language.

I just dropped my '14 SQ5 off for the 55K service...The dealer told me that it's a major sevice, including replacing the serpentine belt, all filters, plugs and more.

I was told the bill should be approx $1,100!

But, there's a deal w/ Audi...I can pre-purchase the 55K and 65K service, and it will only cost $850...

Since the 65K service is about $250, that means instead of paying $1,350 ($1,100 and $250) I only have to pay $850...a savings of about $500!

How do they do that?

Is there some kind of Snake Oil I'm being fed???

No snake oil here. It's called Audi Care Select (in this case the 55K and 65K scheduled services), just one of several Audi Care plans available from the manufacturer. Audi has been offering various maintenance plans for years that provide a consumer savings over paying for service individually. By offering the AC plans, it ensures the dealer will get the business while the owner receives a discount. Google Audi Care Select to see the plans.

Thanks much.

I was impressed that the dealer brought it to my attention, as it seemed they were the people who would lose the $$.
