Default Steering Resistance

I've noticed recently that I get some resistance when steering left or right at moderate to low (40mph and under) speeds. I've checked and filled the steering fluid (with OEM of course).

If I flush the system, will that usually resolve this issue? Or am I looking at replacing the steering pump?

Anyone else have this issue?

Might sound daft but if you have Drive Select then you may be in Dynamic mode. This makes the steering heavier. Comfort mode lightens things up quite a bit.

No I don't have drive select. It is a 2009 Q5 PP.

Well, I did a flush of the steering fluid with OEM and it seems to be much better and no more resistance. I will keep an eye out for it to see if the problem returns (knock on wood).
