Does anyone know if the new SQ5 will have a diesel variant for the Uk ?

No, the diesel version seems to have been scrapped.

UK will get the petrol version, has just been released for sale in Germany, so will appear on the UK site within a week or so.

Thank you - that will be a shame as the great thing about the old version apart from many other aspects was the soundtrack from the diesel and it's Activ speaker

Just found out from the local dealer that the Diesel will be available to buy in February so Europe are offering both variants.

That's interesting! I just went to Audi Germany website and it just shows the SQ5 being offered as a TFSI and not a TDI. In the UK website, the SQ5 is also only offered as a TFSI version.

Seems to be consistent with this article from TOP GEAR ;

Relieved about this as the TFSI will not have the Active Exhaust whereas the Diesel, I would hope, continues to offer that great sounding albeit fake V8 burble !

In the press release Audi describes 3 Diesel engines that will be available. About page 56 or 57.

Thank for the info but those engines relate to the new Q5 and not the SQ5 which will have a new 3.0ltTDI power plant. My dealer said the diesel variant is use to be announced sometime in Feb. Watch this space.

Might be a little brother to the 4.0 going in the SQ7.

I was wrong the Diesel is spec'd on page 38. One of 5 engines in various Q's. It's a 3.0 with 286 HP and 457 torque.
