4 CYL Q7??? WTF? Shout out with me...
I'm clearly behind the curve here, but I just noticed that there is a $6k premium for a reasonable engine in a Q7?? WTF AOA?
I'm pretty sure, after almost 10 years of Q7s, this is my last one. The profit margin on that 2.0l must be a reason (I know, I know, there is pressure to bring down their total MPGs across the range). Total BS.
Car companies that give us want we want when we spend $50k are going to kick your *** AOA - your cool LED headlights are only going to get you so far before people start realizing that you're ripping them off.
UGH!
Set me straight please as I think I'm watching my favorite automaker take away the non-lag 6 cyl engine in every line. I can barely take this engine in my S3 - lag lag lag - and it has 40 more HPs than the 2.0 in the Q7.
ARRRRGGG!!
(ok, I'm done venting, thanks.)

The 2017 2.0t Q7 is quicker than the outgoing 2015 3.0t Q7 (non-S-line). The 3.0t will still continue to be available in the new Q7. The 2.0t is to bring the price more in line with some of the competition such as the Acura MDX.

That being said there is no way I would want a 2.slow in a Q7. The 4L Q7 is hardly sporting without modification but I have imagine that even with the weight savings it would be a slouch with a 4cyl.

1. 4-cyl lag is frustrating, especially in a big vehicle
2. It's about the money - the outgoing 3.0 is being replace with a much less expensive motor, so if you want the equivalent car in 2017 you have to have a 6k dollar premium - huge pricing increase hidden in HP/Torque numbers.
3. Read more posts about this, but a Q7 is not an Acura (I had an MDX in 2014), the Q7 is in the upper stratosphere in fit, finish and drivability compared to most anything Japan as to offer, and the Acura gets to $58k really quick when you configure it - with an AMAZING 6 cyl. engine!
