Default Bluetooth Audio (A2DP) Streaming MY11 Q7

Hi There,

First time poster, long time lurker...

we're looking to purchase a 2010/2011 (MY11) model Q7 soon, and we're wondering if the MMI system supports bluetooth wireless audio streaming via A2DP.

The Salesman said yes (but he also said the 2011 we were looking at was only a 6-speed, and I'm certain it's an 8) and my cross search has come up conflicting also.

any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt

I just installed the tune2air adapter in my MY 2015 Q7 with no problems whatsoever. Great sound and easy install if you follow the short directions.

I tried the tune2air, but had skipping issues with the iPhone 6.

Anyone using the tune2air with the newest iPhone 6/6 plus and not having problems? Thanks.

[QUOTE=mattson;24601222]Hi There,

You are correct ZF 8 speed was switch over in Sept 2011. I know in 2010 the 6 speed (09D) was the last on the Q7.
If you can look under the car and if you can see the transfer module attach to the 6 speed transmission. This is a sign if it is a 6 speed. On the ZF 8 speed has no transfer module and installed it as one whole pieace transmission.

More info

Q7 2011
A brand new facelift brought optional LED headlights, an 8-speed transmission, start/stop fuel-saving technology, CO2 rating reduced to 195 g/km, and a wraparound tailgate design. Also more flat and metallic colors became available and 21-inch titanium-effect wheels became an optional extra. Certain models now achieved upwards of 37 MPG IMP. New Engines include 2 3.0 supercharged engines. One of the supercharged engines puts out 272 horsepower (203 kW) and 295 lb·ft (400 N·m) of torque. The other engine which is found on the S-line prestige Q7 puts out 333 hp (248 kW) and 325 lb·ft (441 N·m) of torque and is the twin of the engine found in the S4 and S5 cabrios. These engines replaced both the 3.6 and 4.2 L gasoline engines. Both engines have the same fuel economy.

Is anyone else having issues with the iphone6 or iOS 8 or higher? looks like the feedback on the tune2air on amazon says anyone with the above devices will have issues since the firmware updates sound like a pain to initiate.

I didn't have any issues with my '15 Q7 other than the occasional skip, however just found out that I actually don't need it as I can activate the bluetooth streaming in the MMI.

I wanted to ask you if you have tried streaming on your MY2015 yet? I have a MY2015 as well and the sound quality is really bad. What is your opinion?
