Default Bluetooth Microphone

The microphone for the phone system seems to be causing trouble. Incoming speech is fine but my outgoing voice cannot be understood by others over the crackling and interference which I cannot hear for myself in the car. I do not believe it is a fault with my phone [HTC desire] as it works perfectly well in three other cars through their bluetooth hands-free systems.

So it must either be the Q7 bluetooth or the microphone. Anyone else had a problem with this and, if so, what was the cure?

I experience the exact same problem. I have no problem hearing the person on the line, but they can not hear me clearly. Let me know if you find a solution! Could it possibly be something with the Bluetooth software updates?

Sounds like exactly the same problem. One fine day I will investigate the microphone connection on the overhead consul, as I suspect the problem might be up there. The Audi Bluetooth module is not the best and mine failed early in its life after a software update, but it has been nowhere near an Audi dealer lately and I have no intention of darkening their door any time soon unless I have to.
The bluetooth hands-free is currently unusable and, if it was my daily drive, would need repairing straight away.

Before getting an Audi dealer to repair it I would consider buying a stand-alone bluetooth system or even a good sat-nav/bluetooth system from Garmin [even though the Audi sat/nav is functional] and probably save hundreds of Pounds. I can almost certainly guarantee that the Audi dealer would replace the Bluetooth unit whether it was faulty or not, just to add the profit margin to their business. I have that little confidence in their ethics.

2013 A6 - Same issue. Dealer checked it, said it was fine, but the outgoing sound quality is awful.

Try deleting the Bluetooth device and then reconnect it.

My problem was a loose connection not far from the mic. Got a local independent to investigate and he sorted it in no time and it never recurred.
