Calling 2007 Q7 Owners: AMI Retrofit Installation (long)
#11
Giblet,
Can you tell me a little bit about your Q7?
You said it's a 2007, can you tell me what options?
Do you have the color dis? nav, bt, etc?
Thanks!
I just picked up a 07 Q7 4.2 premium and I think I want to do the AMI retro.
Could I trouble you for pictures that are a little farther out from what you were working on?
Thanks dude!

I have a color MMI display but just red/black for the display in the tach dash. I do not have NAV but do have Bluetooth and Sat Radio but both of those are not required.

No, the kits are usually just for an AMI retrofit. Those pieces are specific for the Q7 and were extra. You can always make a note in the order section to have them confirm that they are not included though

HI guys I know its outta nowhere but I just got a 2007 Audi Q7 with every possible option installed except fot the AMI so I bought the interface box with the fiber optic and power cable but the installation in the armrest seems a little too hard for me so I was wondering if there is a way to have it installed in my glove box?! Regards.

I fitted mine behind the CD player, there is enough room there if you remove the AMI from its plastic box, the power and the optical loop is behind there as well so easy to connect, then get a dock extension cable for iPhone or a usb cable for hard drive and run it into the glove box or the centre console.
I also have an AMI for sale if anyone is interested ebay Item number: 151002966479
