As the title says, it is hard to smoothly accelerate from a stop without it feeling like I've punched the gas pedal. I seem to recall reading on a different forum that cleaning the mass air flow sensor hot wire might cure this. Any thoughts?

Which engine? My 4.2 throttle is much more sensitive with less travel than my 3.6, which makes the 3.6 slower but much easier to drive smooth.
