NEW Q7 picture

Looking at the new Q7, I'm thinking the grille may be what is screwing it up for me.
Car manufacturers are trying with the signature "one style fits all" looks these days, and only BMW has been successful in implementing that into their SUVs. Maybe if the grille had a different style I'd be more excited. Who knows.
Awful attemps include Lexus and Infiniti, with the former taking the trophy.

Studying the press release pictures further, I think the Audi media folks goofed a bit by not having a balanced mix of images where the Q7 is at normal or even off road ride height. I could only find one where it looks like it "should" and the angle isn't that great for showing off ride height.

Personally, I don't mind Avants/Estates/Wagons- I've had a handful of Audi/VW wagons and liked all of them, but with an SUV, I expect the vehicle to have visual proportions (including ride height) look like an SUV- so show me some ground clearance. Not knocking air suspension here, but show some range in the pics Audi....

I kinda forgot that I never really like the looks of the current Q7. I think this one actually looks a little better. I love the updated electronics, and am going to trust Audi that the MMI screen doesn't look as "slapped on" IRL as it does in those photos.
