2009 Q7TDI. We have noticed when very hot outside that the front fan won't turn on sometimes. When this is the case, it later will turn on after driving for a minute or so.

Very easy, half an hour and done. I purchased a TYC aftermarket on eBay for 70$ I think, lifetime warrantied. Good enough for me. The size of the socket is 5.5 mm, if you don't have it go in the SAE.

Should be the same, ask the seller first or check if the part number matches

Same issue with my MY08 - fan wouldn't work when outside temp was hot, then started later in the drive. Over recent weeks has made whirring sounds then stopped. Has been intermittent but now completely stopped working. Hoping it's covered under warranty!

Hi there,
I have to replace mine, but Amazon says the part you bought is not compatible with my 2010 TDI, what year do you have? I can't find my part (4L1820021A) on Amazon at all, but would really love to get it there if possible.
Thanks,
Kimber

The fan in my 144k miles 2011 TDI just died. The one I picked up at the dealer was 4L1-820-021-B , parts guy said it is the latest version.
