So I finally got some time to do some work on my Q7. I wanted to paint my calipers and black out the chrome strip around windows.. one down, one to go.

I painted my calipers with an aerosol spray. Here's a list of the materials I used...

2 - VHT (SP402) Burnt Copper
1 - VHT - Gloss Clear Coat
1 - Roll of Blue Masking Tape
1 - 9X12 Clear Plastic "Drop Cloth"
Plastic Shopping Bags (not necessary)

Using the 9X12 Clear Plastic "Drop Cloth" I covered a good portion of the car because I didn't want particles from the aerosol spray to hit the car. I moved the clear cover based on which caliper I was painting.

I jacked the car on each side, one at a time. Removed wheels, one at a time. Upon wheel removal I put blue masking tape carefully around the caliper, then covered the entire rotor assembly with a plastic bag. 2 coats of paint and 1 good coat of clear coat and let it dry (this is fast drying stuff) and DONE!

Pictures coming shortly...

Any questions?

Brembo stickers/decals coming next!!!
Did you do each wheel one at a time or did you lift the entire car w 4 jacks? Also did you clean the calipers prior to painting? Lastly do you have a pic of the rear calipers painted?
