The more I see it, the more I like it. Now that I see that you don't need to have that stupid dashboard screen up all the time, I feel really good about the interior. I've never like the look of my 07 all that much, but I love the driving experience. I think the 2016 will be even better. YMMV.

Looks like I am in the minority here...I personally like it. Now I haven't seen the exterior in person (Saw the interior at CES) but overall I like the look. Not a huge fan of the grill but don't hate it either.
Even though the press release says it's about the same size inside, it doesn't look like it judging by the pictures...pictures can be deceiving though.

In addition, loosing all this weight will make the car feel much smaller when driven.
The outside is smaller, the inside is larger, it is a lot lighter, the Cd is amazingly low and thus the fuel economy (especially with the new TDI) is amazing for a large SUV.
OK the styling might not be to everybody's liking but the Utility aspect is quiet amazing (IMHO).

the selling point on the volvo is the interior... if it is anything like the press photos it is the best in it's category. no doubt about it however i am reserving any opinions until i see it, sit in it and touch it. photos may be worth a thousand words but they are misleading as well.

As a long-time Avant owner, my fondest wish is that Audi would bring the A6 Avant back to North America, but I know that's a pipe dream. This new Q7 is definitely carrying some Avant DNA, and that's enough to make me seriously interested.

As much as I like the exterior, the antiquated air vent design and center console BMW/MB mashup are giving me second thoughts about the interior.
Curious about the possible redesign of the 2017 Q5, as it's not as massive as the Q7 In the meantime, I'm quite happy with my 2011 A6 Avant.
