first "mod" on new q7 would be wiper arm upgrade:
one of my automotive peeves are when the wiper arm is shorter than the blade. i like the arm to be the same length as the blade.

Alpine White make the exterior more palatable and pleasing to the eye. Since I love my Blacks, I hope seeing one in person will make me trade in my MY10 in a couple of years. TDI engines can last 300,000 miles but the exterior/interior/technology may look old in 10 years.

VW TDIs have a consistent track history of some owners' reporting high numbers, however, I am certain a majority owners would trade/sell their TDIs before finding out what their engines are capable of because of reasons mentioned before; like wanting a new model vehicle. Likewise, there may be other issues like electrical or expensive replacements of cooling system compressor, leaky radiators, timing belts, suspension and the TDI vehicle is sold before a diesel engine see its full life span. Start/stop can be harder on engines than constant normal running. On a similar note, almost 30% of new car buyers lease their vehicles and I bet that percentage is higher for luxury brands which further complicates how achievable 300K really is.
Recollection from recent reading ..... light diesels with regular maintenance, has cooler running temperatures, operates at lower RPM, and diesel fuel is an oil and contributes to a (possible) higher engine life.
ok, I am tired of typing and have to go back to work.

No doubt the XC90 looks great...having owned an 06 I will never go back to Volvo. Volvo's build quality is not on par not to mention quattro is generations ahead of Volvo's Haldex system.
Plus, I happen to like the look of the new Q7 so the XC90 is a non-starter for me. The great thing about choice is we all get what we want and don't have to drive the same car as somebody else :-)
