Total toe delta was 22mm? That's a bunch, the ride height doesn't change that much between Comfort and Dynamic, I would expect some toe change, but that's each steering arm moving quite a large amount, roughly 7/16in each tire, assuming it occurs symmetrically. I am tempted to have the 4.2 aligned in Dynamic mode next time, rather than Comfort mode as per the manual, because it almost never leaves Dynamic unless I'm towing a trailer, then it defaults to Comfort or Automatic (it locks out Dynamic).

My mate has a 4.2tdi on 22"s and he likes the slammed look. He said they struggled to get it within tolerances in dynamic. He owns a mag wheel company and commented that the suspension geometry was very average and said he's not surprised they chew tyres.

Am running a set of Sailun's that have gotten me about 30k miles and noticed the other day pulling out of the car wash the 2010 Q7 TDI tires spinning out on a nice dry day... time to look at a replacement set before it rains again. I'm running a set of el cheapo Sailun's from Tire Kingdom. They kept their tread decently considering I'm not really a leadfoot but they are LOUD. I'm partially deaf in one ear so it doesn't bother me that much but the noise got pretty noticeable at about 14k miles into the set. Although Continental are supposedly the Audi recommended replacements, I'm not too hot on the tire life being about ~20k from various forum reads. Michelin Latitude Tour HP's seem to be the longest lasting and highest mileage warranty out there but they are pricier at $262/tire through Discount Tire right now. I haven't read anywhere yet that the Michelin's don't wear out way sooner than expected...Next best bet seem to be the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Seasons at 50k warranty for $201 per tire but I've read in some forums that the Pirelli's seem to hit their max at ~20k miles.
