What's next after a Q7?
Our leased 14 Q7 goes back early Sept this year.
What SUV have you chosen after and why?
I prefer European steel to protect my wife and daughter, but am interested in spending less than a Q7.
I'm leaning towards buying her next SUV and am not adverse to buying used CPO.
Wife drives hard. She trashes tires on whatever she drives. So she goes through tires and brakes fast on the Q7.
TIA

Volvo XC90 is a possibility. The safety aspect is the main reason then aesthetics (R design). I am hoping the first year beta testing has been accomplished.
Iconoclast - what's the latest on these?

In a few years I'd like to check out a slightly used XC90 T6.. or the New VW Atlas, I think the Atlas is going to be a huge hit in North America. It's going to be a FWD biased Haldex AWD system so tire wear won't be as bad as the Q7
I know someone with a early 2016 XC90 T6 and it has been perfect for 30k highway miles
The New Q7 is nice, but IMO only in S-Line form which is not available in the states. Could always import one from Canada though. I wonder how sales are doing with the new Q7 vs New XC90? I see way more new XC90's than new Q7's on the road up here in Northern NY

I would check out the Volvo V90...
... finally a big luxury wagon returns without the off-road pretense. Handles much better than an SUV as the center of gravity is lower. Less expensive too...

It seems unlikely either will be cheaper than his current Q7...
... which was one of the factors listed. Although, maybe the eTron will be unloved. There are some seriously cheap electric cars out there that dealers are putting mountains of cash on the hood to move them off the lot.

I've looking at the XC90s on the road since it was mentioned here. They do have decent lines and as mentioned tick off the safety box. Wife is onboard with one of those.
The V90 is something I'd like more than she would since I've always been a wagon guy. My first car was the family hand me down Volvo wagon 240 DL. I also had: BMW 540i Sport Wagon, Audi S6 Avant & Dodge Magnum SRT8.
I showed her a picture of the V90 and she said you can buy that if you want and I'll drive your A8L. LOL. Might mean a new ride for me.
That F Pace caught my eye when I saw one in a local parking lot. Very sharp.
Thanks to all for the responses.

We sold our 2008 Q7 S-Line and bought a new 2016 S-Line for less than our 2008 at $11,000 off list.We test drove the new 2017 but at this time no S-Line Models available and based on info will cost $90,000 with the same options we have. We paid $60,000 for a fully loaded 2016 S-Line new like our 2008 including air suspension.
