Default Gas Pedal is very heavy

The gas pedal gets very heavy when the q7 reaches 70mph. Does yours do that?

It feels hard to accelerate the q7 at that speed.

I don't think the pedal is heavy, I think it presses down fine, the car simply does not accelerate as much as you think it should (as you described next).

If I am driving in Auto mode, yes it feels hard. If I need to accelerate at that speed, I either switch to Sport mode or shift down.

I am driving in Auto mode as well. I feel like it going against me when I press it to increase the speed.

Shifting it down to 7th gear will give me immediate power.

Wanna see if this is normal.

I was driving an E90 before this car. The E90 would give me immediate power almost all the time

Keep in mind the weight of the Q7...it's 5000 lbs of mass to move vs the E90 is around 3500 lbs. IMO the Q7 moves pretty well given its size, even at 70+ mph.

I had that same issue and I kept thinking it had something to to with Pre-Sense. You would literally smash the gas pedal down and it would take 2-4 seconds to engage with the power you were expecting. It actually made me hesitant in some cases to initiate the move I wanted to make. I will also say I typically drove in Comfort mode,

That's true. There have been a couple of times that I hesitated to make lane change.

I drive in auto mode all the time. It has 1250 miles with long term memory showing 23.3mpg. The mpg is great. So, just down shift if you need to pass someone at above 70mph. Fun fun.

I'd like to bring this thread back up. This is my first Audi, so the pedal seems very heavy and (physically) resistant to me. Anyone else feel the same way? Is this normal?

I tested this on the way home today. I was doing 70, traffic opened up and I hit the gas. Next thing I knew i was doing 90. Gas pedal felt normal.

Make sure your floor mat is installed properly and not affecting the gas pedal in any way.

Get used to pull the shifter and use Sport mode when passing/merging or in need of quickly accelerating. What you describe is normal behaviour of a 5000lbs car in that's supposed to give you decent fuel economy. The Sport mode will rev the engine higher and give you instant torque.
