Default Run Flats and Snow Tires Question

Since these cars have no room for a full size spare what to do for winter? I live in Denver and really like having snow tires on my cars for the winter but since these cars don't have spare tires, I am feeling a bit insecure with the idea of going up in the mtns during the winter without a spare tire or run flats.

How are the Eagle Sports in the snow? I noticed they do have a snow flake symbol but I was looking at putting 18's on for snow.

I'm going to run Blizzak DMV2s in the winter. The car comes with a compressor and temporary fix-a-flat already, and in 30y of driving I've never had a flat tire that couldn't have have limped me home with the compressor and tire gunk. There's always Audi roadside assistance as a back up.

Most situations yes but worried about the situations where the tire gunk won't fix like sidewall damage.

I was thinking of one of these for the longer road trips

Platform Wheel Carrier - #RPWC | Rhino-Rack

My wife already damaged the front right tire and discount tire doesn't carry our current tire yet...

I'd go for that if the road trip was from Paris to Dakar.

Yakima makes a rooftop spare tire holder as well. I just saw an X5 the other day with NJ plates, headed for Cape Cod with a full size spare on the roof. I agree...I'm not comfortable with fix-a-flat in winter. Most winter flats are from hitting monster potholes and damaging the sidewall. I'm hoping that the vertical cargo area spare tire holder is available by winter. I already have 255-55-19 Nokian winter tires for my LR4 and they are not run flats. I need a spare tire solution for winter.

The vertical cargo area spare tire holder... is this something Audi is coming out with?

According to this post, yes...

quattroworld.com Forums: AoA now offers a standalone spare wheel/tire for the 2017 Q7 (4M).

Would be nice if they offered a collapsed spare (that you would use the on-board pump to inflate) like the older model. I would think that would take less space.

Hmmm, I wonder if the the collapsed spare from an older Q7 would fit?

It would not...new Q7 has a 5x112 bolt pattern, same as many other Audis. First generation Q7 had the same bolt pattern (5x130?) as the Cayenne & Touareg.
