TDI Settlement
So I bought a TDI recently and stupid me, thought the cheating scandal was limited to 2.0 engines.
Recently a settlement to buy back 2.0's was announced.
I went to a local dealer to see what I could get for my Q7 and its 10K less than i Paid.
Do you guys think that there may be some recourse for us late buyers? I have a habit of impulse buying and replace cars annually, but seems like I may have to bite the bullet and ride this out unless VW/ Audi makes some type of buy back/ restitution for the 3.0's or until I drive the car into the ground (which is scarier with the costs of these vehicles high mileage maintenance)
Sorry if this has been discussed, never been in a position like this like many, and 10K is a LOT of money for a few weeks on a car.

AUDI is giving a $3k "we are sorry" trade in cash for TDI owners. That helps a bit.
The second proposed solution for 3.0 TDI's is due in November. If its rejected by California CARB, more than likely there will be a buy back.
I would wait it out unless you really want a different car.

Under the circumstances you have provided I would keep it and enjoy it as if there was no scandal. And after the dust settles, which could be a couple of years from now, you actually may have a car that is somewhat rare and in demand. And as the result, your return on your "investment" may actually go up. In the meantime enjoy your awesome Q7 which I assume was the main reason you bought it in the first place.

As a TDI buyer after the November announcement came out, I don't think there is much recourse you can take to recoup diminished value and so forth unless there is a court order to buyback like Nissan had for some minivans back in the 90s.
As mentioned, enjoy the performance for the time being as a resolution being enacted is not foreseeable at this time.
