Has any one connected a radar warning from to the inside mirror. I only have a lighter in my consul, wire would be in to long. Is there a way to connect a radar unit to a RS7 ?

yes. I have a six year old STI that I used to use in my 911 4S on the passenger side visor running the wire along the A pillar and squeeze the cable between the passanger dash and the passanger door and plug into the lighter.
The RS7 is wider. and the only power outlet I have is under the armrest. so I pulled the visor clip off and bought a soft plastic tray like thingy that craddels the radar detector unit and I set on the dash beside the pop up screen. if I'm stopped its easily stashed away (unplugged) into the armrest bin.
still, I was caught doing 148 in 100 km/h. the car is too freaking fast. the detector buzzed x band and by the time I slowed down from what was over double the speed limit I still got caught. so maybe the location I have it in is too low shortening the rang.

by the way, I got out of the ticket by telling the officer I was rushing the bugs on my windshield to be tested for zika. he laghed and let me go.

Thanks Nabob for the information. I would really like to connect the power to the inside mirror. They have a mount that is attached under the mirror and there also a wiring harness for the escort unit to the mirror.
