Default How To: Spare Tire for the RS7

For some incredibly stupid reason, known only to AoA, the RS7 does not come with a spare tire in the US, even as an option. Instead, it comes with a jack (why?), and a tire repair kit (goop and pump). I guess if you blow a sidewall in the middle of Nowhere NM, you're supposed to jack up the car, grab the wheel and jog to the nearest tire shop. It was a deal breaker for me until I finally got to look at an RS7 and checked that it actually still had a tire well in the trunk.

After I got the car I couldn't find a dealer or Audi repair shop that could order the proper spare. Fortunately, I did find this great forum, and a comment by Freddavies here, that an S6 or S7 spare would work. So... for the benefit of the vast number of RS7 owners in the US, here are some pictures and part numbers.

Spare tire/wheel -- T 145/65/R20 (Continental or ?).
Mine is from a 2013 A7 that I got at a junk yard for $100. Markings on wheel - (on rim) "4200010 P D 01 13 07 12" (and on center face clockwise) "(audi rings) 460601 027", "TR 53", "2200902 LE 4", "41/2Jx20H2 ET 22". Hopefully there's a part number there.
Tool Box/caddy -- "4G0-012-109-C" -- $31.52

Cover -- "4G0-860-381" -- $44.84.
The cover is necessary to protect the air controller and air tubing while the spare is lifted in or out.

Old Tool box removed. Duct tape was temporary. ________________ New tool box and cover. Old pump and goop bottle fit ok. __________ Spare in. ID tag stuck with velcro

The car. She knows she's got a very special trunk.
