Default Picking The New Girl Up Tonight

She came in while I was traveling. Stopped by the dealership this morning and was amused to see every major piece of glass with this poster—shipped with the car by Audi—on it:

When I actually saw it in person, I understood. Something about the Matte Daytona begs to be touched. Interestingly, when the car was shipped, it was kept in a separate container on the boat, shipped in covered carrier from the LA port, and was not covered by Audi's usual car "gift wrap."

A few more pics. Sorry about the lighting. Dealership has odd fluorescents, and all I had with me was the phone for taking pics.

Thanks. Wheels are separately spec'able I guess. I picked PQI, the titanium finish, which actually looks quite good with the matte. Doesn't matter too much to me, anyway, because tomorrow, the HRE P104 set will go on with the Satin Charcoal finish.

Thanks Glacier6. About to drop her off for HRE wheel replacement, Akrapovic exhaust, and radar install. Even with the little bit of driving I have been able to do, the car is just amazing. DRC is overall much better than I remembered from my test drive, though on the highway concrete expansion strips, Automatic is more enjoyable. She's a beast even without the 'S' setting engaged, but with it, she is like driving a big-a$$ rocket on rails.

Dropped her off at the shop Tuesday to start these "improvements":

1. HRE P104 wheels in Satin Charcoal [goes with the Daytona Matte great, and while the OEM wheels are no slouch, they don't hold a candle to these];

2. Flat-bottomed wheel courtesy of Alex at Europrice;

3. Titanium emblems courtesy of Osman & Jude at OEM-Audi;

4. Akrapovic titanium exhaust [keeping the stock single pipe tips];

5. Beltronics STi-R + ALP Laser & Radar-Mirror display;

6. Satin matte clear bra [full car, by the same guy who did my R8; we tested spots on the rocker panels and doors, and it looks very good; he recently did a beautiful Ferrari Pearl White Matte].

Here is a short clip of the work in progress:

Any worries about maintenance of the matte paint? I've heard opinions both ways...i.e. no problem to "a lot of work".
