Default Question re ride comfort of a M6 vs RS7

I'm currently driving a 2013 M6 convertible and my lease is up next year. I guess I am aging as I find the ride (even in comfort) and road noise a bit too much. In your opinion, is the RS7 quieter and smoother over bad pavement than the M6 or should I look towards a S7/S6?
Thanks for your thoughts...

I think the ride comfort of audis is better than the BMW M cars (having owned an e46 M3 and an E70 X5M), because of the air suspension in the audis, the ride comfort has been better. Of course, ideally, you would drive an RS7 to see the difference (if you are in Houston I would not mind letting you take a ride in mine so you can cross shop), however, I think you will also find a bunch of the RS7 owners on here and Audizine (which is more active) prefer the RS7 with the dynamic package, which adds a traditional spring suspension, instead of the air suspension that comes stock. That will make the ride more "sporty" (read : not what you want).

TL;DR - The Audi's air suspension is better than M car normal suspension IMHO, you should drive one to be sure. I cannot comment on road noise as that has never been an issue for me in any of the cars I had, perhaps I am an outlier on the issue.

Good luck!

I have owned multiple M3s (E36, E46, E90, E92 and an M5 (E34) and have driven my buddies 2012 M6 multiple times. I find my new RS7 with DRC (springs/dampers, not the air suspension) to be considerably smoother than the M-cars. When I have the car in comfort mode it is very smooth and even when in dynamic mode it is still not a jarring ride.

I have heard and talked to people with the air suspension which as others have stated is even more pliable.

Go try an RS7 out and I think you will love it

Thanks guys. I sincerely appreciate the offer for a test drive from Houston. Very generous. I will try the RS6 with the air suspension around here. I recently drove the S6 and liked it. I sought out bad roads that usually make me cringe in my M6 and found it smooth but the RS looks insane....and nice to hear from a Torontonian....someone I know up there just ordered a RS7

I mean to say I intend to try a RS7 not a RS6...
