B6 S4 Custom Exhaust
So I have just recently purchased a 2004 Audi S4 and I love it. I'm looking to do some beginner mods to it right now, nothing that will break the bank as I am saving to do some more serious modifications in the future. The first thing I would like to do is straight pipe the exhaust from the cats back, however with a bit of a different approach. My mechanic (Whose brother owned the exact same car) recommended me to make the dual exhaust meet at one pipe for the majority of the cutback system, then split back out to dual at the very end. This modification would be merely for sound rather than performance... When I have the time to pull the engine and the money I plan to install a nice pair of headers. I was just curious as to what some other people's opinions may be on this subject: is this a good/bad idea? Would going from dual to single to dual have any positive/negative affect? Should an intake be installed as well? (If so some advice on one would be appreciated) etc... Also please refer me to any previous threads that would be helpful.
