Select]
[17 - Instruments]

Enter 5-digit code from below

Mine was coded to 01231.

Recoded to 01229. No more seat gong.

I took this from posts I found while searching for the same answer. It worked like a charm and took my mechanic "s4master" about 2 minutes.

I don't know whether or not the dealer will do it for you.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/102021.phtml">https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/102021.phtml</a</li></ul>

Re: Question, does the gong get completely disabled, or only for the seatbelt?

Goggle translated from openOBD.org for B6,
Instrument cluster coding:
xxx?1: Belt warning.

0. No belt warning.

1. Belt warning Europe NCAP optical durable warning, acoustic warning for 91 seconds actively.

2. Belt warning the USA and Canada old optical and acoustic warning for 6 seconds of.

3. Belt warning the USA and Canada NAR newly optical durable warning, acoustic warning every 30 seconds of.

4. Belt warning Europe NCAP (incl. front seat passengers) optical durable warning, acoustic warning for 91 seconds actively.

5. Belt warning the USA and Canada old (incl. front seat passengers) optical and acoustic warning for 6 seconds of.

6. Belt warning the USA and Canada NAR again (incl. front seat passengers) optical durable warning, acoustic warning every 30 seconds.

I don't know what "NCAP" and "NAR" designate.

There has been success with subtracting "2" from the original coding, but from the reference, the original coding of "01231" would be correctly recoded to "01201" to eliminate all seat belt warning chimes and visual signals.

Subtracting 2 from the code also works on the B7 A4
