Default Yeah, they must have done the rating test in D mode.

In Sport or driving hard in tip mode the mileage is just as terrible as the manual.

That's for sure. I've seen a hard run trip with a 7 mph average.

Default 1. Clutch is not hard to master, its a bit long though 2. on a normal

test drive or most driving it feels the same as the Sedan - we drove both back to back 3.see below....but in our Avant manual trans we get 15-16, mostly round town and hilly- if you have a lot of fun with the throttle can dip to 13 mpg. on trips 18-20.

more on the clutch - its my wife's car and she is short and has no problem with the clutch - however it could use a clutch stop to take out 1/2 inch of un-needed travel - but no one makes them for Audi as the do for bMW's.

Default MPG difference could also be attributed to gearing...

it seems as though even though the manual is a 6sp, the 6th cog is still geared shorter to allow for more 6th gear acceleration...

OT: is that silver Avant lowered...? looks hot...

I've been seeing about the same, 9 mpg in Sport and the best I can do is about 20 mpg on the highway with a combo of Tip and D mode. Only had it for about 3 weeks and still breaking it in. I wasn't expecting better mileage than that anyway, but man all this fun comes for a price!

Default IMHO, it's the DBW.

The throttle response just isn't quick enough or linear enough for my tastes. I'm just not up for accelerating clutch wear to compensate. So I just suffer in silence as my wife complains about the case of whiplash I'm giving her...or I ease away from stoplights with the rest of the Buick drivers...or I leave her at home!

I think I differ from most here. I'm still not used to the clutch on the S4. It's really uncomfortable at times, especially at low RPMs. If you shift fast you can avoid it most of the time, but slow shifting can be annoying.

I came from a 996 so maybe I'm just spoiled.
