1/2 Mile Event - S4 or SQ5 - Expected MPH?
I'm going to goto a half mile even in IL in September. I'm bringing my supercharged C7 but also was going to bring either my '14 S4 or '15 SQ5 and let 2 of our employee's run the car.
Everyones initial answer is the S4 is faster but IMO on the freeway with the gearing the SQ5 seems to be quicker, especially over 100mph. I know its bigger, heavier but I think the gearing on the 8 speed really helps it.
From a dead stop the S4 is much faster, the DCT launches while the 8 speed putters off the line. From a roll though I'd put them much closer.
It is a 1/2 mile roll race, you start at 40mph and then run 1/2 a mile.
Any idea of what they would run?
Anyone ever done a 1/2 mile event? The S4 has an intake but is stock. The SQ5 is dead stock with the 21's.
Thought it might be a good chance to pick up one of the piggy back boxes that people were trying out too, see what the real difference is.

The S4 will be faster. Weight and aerodynamics.
