An introduction, a message from AWE Tuning
Hello! I’m Andrew Ball, the newest team member at AWE Tuning. I will be taking over for Zack here at AudiWorld over the next few days and forward.
A bit of background... I’m an enthusiast if nothing else. I've grown up around cars, and started racing at 15, starting in a 1988 BMW E30 M3. I've raced in SCCA, BMW CCA, Grand-Am, and NASA. I’ve been a driving coach for years for all things “race craft”.
And now... I'm here and ready to serve. I look forward to getting to know everyone. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask.

OK, I'll bite...I am picking up my 3rd S4 in about 6 weeks a 2015 6MT with drive select and suspension. I always wanted to "chip" my car but after reading tons of posts it seems that none of the tuner company's claims about guaranteed extra HP actually pan out with the lion's share of comments on here and Audizine being negative about flashing the car to gain 40+ HP and added torque. I am not tracking car, I am not dynoing my car I am just honestly interested in a basically cheap tune that generates more HP and torque.
So....do you guys at AWE guaranty that your tunes will work? Are there qualifications like you must use x octane fuel, oh and you need to do his and do that. Honestly, spending thousands and thousands of dollars on a s4 to make it faster and handle better seems so foreign to me. I just want a ECU tune that actually delivers on its promises and if it doesn't then the tuner company buys everything back. Stand behind your claims.
What do you say abut all this jabbering on?

I've already reached out. I'll be in for a stage 1 after returning from Europe.
I can't recall who responded (at 10 PM), but I did ask similar questions. I also checked in with the BMW crowd I know. Stage 1 is tame enough given the specs of the engines, generally. Trick is not going after a warranty claim with the tune found out and, atop that, perhaps getting the tune overwritten by a dealer if a flash is the fix for an issue with the car.

Ah, a fellow Lehigh Valley member. I will track it. A friend is an instructor near Scranton. . He's actually pushing me to grab an M5 and skip tuning the A6, but, that's for the day when I could just burn cash for fuel. Tracking a car is going to cost enough. Besides, how else would these stickers apply?
Big brakes and the suspension tunes are also on my shopping list.
If you see a white A6 with the plate shown in my avatar, that's me. Frequently seen in car washes... Lol.

Set your expectations correctly with a tune. It's a nice 10-15% improvement, mostly above 5500 RPM. If you're taking a tune on track a cooling upgrade is a good idea.
