Default Rough shifting into 1st, 2nd, and Reverse??

Hey guys,

2011 Audi S4 81,000 miles stock

Noticed my shifting is getting tighter and tougher to shift into gears. Especially 1st, 2nd, and Reverse. It does it sometimes but not all the time. Sometimes it shift like butter vs others jamming it into the gear with a firm press. It is a little jerking. No grinding. Clutch feels the same as always. Only have 81,000 miles all stock. When I turn the car off, I can shift through the gears without a problem but when it's on with the clutch in it's not taking the gears.

Transmision fluid? Clutch? Synchros? Shifter?

It has been reported before. Most likely the result of deteriorating synchros in the trans. When they go bad, it makes shifting possible but harder. It usually affects the 1-2 shift/ it can be repaired but requires the removal of the trans. I would also think about changing the clutch slave valve as well. With 81k miles, if you have to take out the trans, clutch plate and assembly it, might be prudent to replace them as well.. Alternatively you might want to think about upgrading to a newer car with lower mileage and warranty.
