Default RS6 Steering wheel

Will the S4 airbag fit into an RS6 steering wheel, or would I have to buy a steering wheel with an airbag installed? I really like the flat bottom steering wheel, so I figure the RS6 is the best bet..

And also does anyone have any experience installing one? is it a direct swap to the current steering wheel?

And if I order a EU airbag, is that legal in the US?

You're going to have to get the round style airbag.

Any idea how much those go for and where I can get one?

Here's some instructions. It's not difficult. I actually just did it this weekend (switched to the TTRS wheel).

And, here's a link to AZine where a vendor has a listing of some of the top steering wheel options and some pricing. It's not cheap - but this is the only thing your hands touch 100% of the time when you're in the car. The thicker TTRS (or RS6) wheel make a nice difference in overall sporty feel of the car.

Do you have any pics of your wheel? Did you need to buy the plug and play harness?

I haven't had a chance to take any pics yet. Literally just got it done and wanted to watch football Also changed the shift **** to match the steering wheel. Will try to post pics in the coming days.

I bought the steering wheel used from a member over on Audizine. He originally bought from Alex @ Europrice (who is also a member on Audizine). It came with everything I needed to install it (wheel, harness, S4 badge, airbag). Here is his thread. He has pics of the wheel (looks identical in my car).

You can see the steering wheel in post #72 on the 2nd page.

I have the RS6 wheel (with an S4 emblem) on my car, which I got from EuroPrice. You definitely need another airbag and it came with the plug & play harness.

Added one more that shows the thickness better...

Why not get one from a B8.5 S4?

Call me picky but I don't want the extra buttons from the B8.5 (post-facelift) wheels since I have a B8 (pre-facelift).
