S4 Avant??

You know, that is a really good question. We looked at the Cayenne while we were at the Porsche dealer (which also happens to be a Volvo dealer).
When did the Macan come to market?
If it was available when we were in test driving mode, we did indeed make a notable oversight.

Well, if you attempt to option them out similarly, the Porsche IS more expensive, but only about 5% (about $3K), assuming the S would be comparable to the SQ5 -- which it certainly seems to be.
Shhh, don't tell my wife we didn't drive something.
Geeze!

Actually, this time has a pretty good list of standard features on the Macan S. It's a compelling choice. Demand is very high, though, so it will be a while before anyone new can actually get one.

I've read that demand is so high that the entire first year's production has been sold before the first one even came out of assembly. People will be lucky to pay a penny less than full MSRP for awhile.

I don't know the answers to your two questions but I have not read one single review that didn't say the Macan was the holy grail of crossover suvs. Every. Single. Review. Usually there is some room for debate but in this case every journalist who has driven one said it's the ****.

I have an Odessey Touring, a Seqoia, and a Focus Titanium and want to get down to two nicer cars.
My wife insists we get a 2016 Odessy and wants an AWD for snow and likes the Focus for trips to the city.
I am jonesing for something and my wife is fine with me buying another car but wants to keep what we have or at least the capability of what we have. I think four cars for a two-car garage is nuts. She said just but another house with a 3+ car garage but that is a lot of work to find something better.
The Cayman S is the only thing under $100,000 that I emotionally am attracted to. But it seems so impractical with three kids. But then again we have other cars. So I may impulse buy one. But not sure if I will regret it due to not choosing to drive it much.
I got tired of our STi and didn't pick it much, but I attribute that to the juvenile styling, excessive noise, and horrifically aweful stereo.
The Cayman doesn't have those issues. So maybe I would use it any time there were just 1-2 people and no snow.
