Sunday afternoon, while driving the sports differential indicator light came on and locked my steering wheel so I couldn't do anything but stop. Luckily I was in a residential area so it wasn't in traffic. I turned the car off and then turned it back and everything seemed to be back to normal. Should I be worried and take it in the dealer or was it a electronic glitch? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Car at 57k

I would right away. Seems pretty risky if that happens again one highway and you have to stop and restart the car to turn. Keep us Posted, curious to see if this is normal behavior when that light turns on.

I don't think its the same since I never got a steering wheel light notice, but feels like the same type of incident. Going in tomorrow to get it check out with mechanic/diagnostics. To update, ever since it came on Sunday, the sports differential HAS NOT reappeared, so I'm hoping to hear good news tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the feedback, much appreciated!

Sounds like your ignition lock failed or your ignition partially shut off. Maybe you just need a new battery?

You don't have electric steering so that's not the cause.
