I'd almost rather just drive the extra 20 miles to get 100 octane at the pump than worry about handling toluene (and paying the extra cost). I did the math and it comes out to be about even if I have to pay $9.50/gal for toluene (20% discount) and add 2 gallons per tank of gas to get 94 octane versus filling up with 5 gallons of 100 octane (rest 91) and driving the extra 20 miles each way (~ 20mpg commute). Each would give me about 93.7 octane (which we all know really isn't "93.7" because craptane isn't really 91...but that's a different story).

I guess my thought is... why tune for anything but 91?
I realize craptane sucks, but if it's all that's available?
I will not let my car be a slave higher, typically unavailable fuels.
IMO of course.

For speed, of course :) I have to run -3 timing at 21 psi because of double digit CFs...
with higher octane I can have timing at 0 and let the ECU adapt...and potentially run higher boost too. True, I could keep the boost down but that's no fun.

Just picked up today 5g for $75 after tax! NEVER again! I can get 101 race gas for $5.75g.
I'm sure adding that to the tank will yield better results! But the race gas station is 10mi away.

why don't you try the torco fuel additive as posted above?
If 32 oz of torco raises octane so much (see al's post above), why can't you use half a can of it? That would be $10..
