Default 225/50/17 vs. 225/45/17

Hate to post this, but couldn't find the answer quick enough. Will a 225/50/17 tire fit on a B5 S4, stock suspension? OEM is 225/45/17.

Thanks, and sorry for the lame post. Just need an answer quick.

Probably, but why do want a thicker tire?

For a winter set-up. Im in the process of mounting my avus's for winters on the 245/50/17's and getting 18's in the spring.

Just want to make sure I won't be rubbing...

Anyone running with this setup, or know if the 50's will rub?
