I've been trying to educate myself about the options for aftermarket cams for this engine - the info is pretty sporadic.

Seems the only thing worth swapping out is the intake cams. The most popular choice are the 2.8 30v cams for stage 3+ application with somewhat higher boost and redline limits.

Unfortunately I can't find any good info on alternatives. I've looked for Revolver but can't find a vendor...

Anyone know a good place to get either 2.8 cams, or any other aftermarket cams. Anybody have a comparison chart or something? Maybe we can collect all that stuff in this thread for the future.

best bet is to find a used set of 2.8 heads complete. I sourced a set off an old passat for 350. I used both the heads and the cams.

You can also look into CAT cams. I believe they are custom cut and porbably around 800 a pair. You can also try eurospec.com. I dont think they have them on their website bu they will cut cams for you also. As far as data/charts, etc, I dont have any.

Easiest and most practical is the first option.
