what about those delightful warning icons that can't show up now?

I think the TT guys had success with this because their GAUGES were jacked up, not just the center
display. But, my gauges are now also kind of jacked. They just jitter on start up and shut down.
In these vids it is short, but often it last 20-30 seconds. Real annoying.

so f'ing what. maybe, just maybe they'll do something about this defective POS if
enough people complain. Don't do it if you don't want to.

Seriously, you're complaining about a 6-7 year old car. AOA was replacing them under warranty.
If you bought a used car that is out of warranty and it has the problem, I think you're just SOL. If you're the original owner and it just started happening after your warranty ran out, you're still SOL.
Even if its a safety issue, I think once you're out of warranty that's it. You wouldn't get a free replacement after warranty if you had a brake system failure and that more a safety item than the display.

Yeah, but the failures were happening when the car was 3-4 years old. I see 2 issues here
One is an argument of whether it is a safety issue. It is more of a convenience issue IMO but could be seen as a safety issue to some.
The other issue is that it is a poor design/crappy part and Audi *should* repair or replace this part at a reduced cost due to the majority of the cars out there have this problem - especially when failing only after a few years.

I wouldn't go as far as saying the majority of cars have it. Yeah there's a lot of guys here but...
The percentage of guys here compared to all Audis sold is very small. I think the fact that they were being replaced under warranty without agrument is enough for me. If it happens after your warranty runs out, chalk it up to cost of maintenance.
I just don't like when people start these things just for the sake of trying to get a free fix. Things like this is what cause cars prices to go up because the dealers/manufacturers start building these future costs into the price of the car.
