Anyone know the name/part number
Made a fun discovery yesterday while poking around the engine bay. I have bentley on order, but wanted to look into running by a dealership and grabbing a new one of whatever this broken valve is:

anyone know what I should ask for so the Audi guys can just grab one from a bin and give it me? As opposed to charging me thousands of dollars to take a peak and identify it themselves?

That looks like the three pronged hose barb - part of the vac system. It's not a valve, just a three-way connection. Those things get brittle and break pretty easily. I replaced mine with a metal t-hose barb from a hardware store.

You don't think there's a one-way valve in there? There's a kind of bell shaped housing on the one side of it (the top bit in the photo), and a steady stream of air coming from it at idle. Looking at the few layout images I can find, I was thinking it was a non-return valve between the vacuum reservoir and the n249.

this might be a dumb question, but what do the two smaller stalks on that connect to? or do they not connect to anything? i don't see those on what is currently in my car. it looks like that is where the my valve broke, so maybe that part fell away...but i don't see any loose plumbing in that area.
i was looking around ECS, and found this: http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_S4-.../Valve/ES3314/
same thing, looks like, but sans two smaller stalks....it says "automatics only", though, and i have a 6 speed. so i'm confused. should i be looking for 2 smaller vac hoses hanging disconnected down behind the intake manifold?
update: ok, now JHM is making it sound like that second one is also for 2001.5+ manuals, too: http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalo...80cd6c12ae599f
