Audi S4 blown KO4 Turbo
My friend has a 2001 audi S4 with KO4 turbos in it. Apparently he was running low on oil and his turbos blew. The car will start but burns oil bad. Does any one know how to find a rebuild kit for the turbos? Any help would be grateful. Has any one ever rebuilt or replaced turbos on a 01 S4 before?

Turbos
I bought mine from this vendor. They sell genuine Borg Warner turbos but also sell aftermarket turbos if your feeling lucky. The price on the BW turbos is almost $1500 more than they were a year ago. Don't know about their aftermarkets but I was happy with mine. They shipped the same day and arrived in BW packaging with factory labels affixed.
Rebuilding turbos is a dicey endeavor. They really would need balancing after rebuild and I would not want to pull an engine again to repair or replace a faulty turbo. But rebuild kits are available for less than $100 if you want to go down that road.

Tial S605 Turbos
I agree I would never pay that for K04 turbos. But you would still be looking at 4K+ for the 605's. Given the price comparison the Tials seem like the way to go. Last year they were selling the K04 turbos for $2100, I don't know the reason for the price jump but it looks like there is a shortage of K04 turbos right now. Anyone know why?
