bad coolant after-run pump pictures
Want to see what a bad coolant after-run pump looks like? I did my timing belt this weekend (ugh) and I knew this problem existed so I figured I would do it at the same time. BTW, previous owner used orange coolant if you can't tell.

Mine went bad too and there is an o-ring that sits around the metal tube that goes into
the block right there. My pump went bad and shortly after the o-ring went bad too b/c of the coolant that was sitting there. So I had to do the job all over again. I hope you didn't let the problem go to long.
Keep an eye on it.
also, You don't worry about objects falling into those open holes? I always stuffed mine with towels.

Yeah, I put towels in the intake ports while I was working in there.
I took the picture immediately after removing the manifold.
This may be a stupid question, but what is the hose that goes from the behind the block, under the manifold, and attaches to the f-hose? Mine was hard and brittle from heat and broke at both ends, so I replaced it with a heater hose.

The belt looked fine actually. Even the serpentine looked ok-ish, but somebody probably changed it
in a past life. The hand grenade tensioner piston was a bit less strong than the new one, and some of the rollers seemed a bit noisy. Nothing serious though. I'm going to go ahead and endorse a TB change at 100k miles as a good idea and perfectly OK.
And no pics of the belt, she's already in the trash and the trash man came on Monday. Sorry.
