I think this was from the same article (Road & Track, October 1999) that said the S4's brake rotors were cross-drilled (they are not) and that it came shod in Pirelli P Zero tires (it does not).

The brake thing really makes me laugh, since there's a close-up picture of one of the wheels and it clearly does not have drilled rotors.

bah, R&T needs to get their facts straight.

Default Re: Nothing on the S4 is running 16psi....

Make sense to me. Someone must have been given the info that each side puts out 8psi and assumed that they should be added to make 16psi. But they are not seperate. The intake system becomes common at some point.

Default Re: Boost of the turbos on the S4,, wait!!!!!!

I do not think it would handle 30psi. Those pressures will cause stress on the compressor blades. It is the excess volume of air over the amount the engine could consume naturally aspirated that creates the boost.

Default R&T wasn't the only mag to get it wrong...

In the latest issue Car & Driver also wrote in an article on MY2000 cars that the S4 turbos generated 16 psi.

"Well, 8+8=16, doesn't it?" Not in this case!
