Default 2 months ago roughly <more>

I'm going to try to push the car in to my garage this evening and get it up on stands.

We'll see...

Thanks,
Matt

Default drivers side axle totally disconnected <more>

All the bolts are there... not stripped and nothing broken. I'm going to take a guess and say the shop forgot to tighten them during the stage 3 install.

Default Yep. That's what I thought. Once they're tightened up you should be fine.

Thanks Mike. What's the torque spec on those bolts?

Default You can't accurately torque them because you'd have to use extensions and such...

As tight as you can get them with a 3/8" drive ratchet is fine. Hold on to the wheel with one hand and tighten with the other.

I used to use my electric impact with a 30" extension on em but ended up checking them with the ratchet anyhow, so I just use the ratchet now.

I realize this is an ancient thread but I can absolutely confirm that with a broken axle/joint, the car won't move but the speedo will. I bought a 2001 Allroad at an auction. The left front inner joint was broken as was the rear lower control arm in that area. The vehicle wouldn't move but the speedo moved when in gear (grinds badly if put in Park while speedo is registering). I replaced the control arm, front lower arm for good measure, and the axle. Vehicle now moves just fine.
