Not so conservative
Car: $40k plus taxes
Net Worth: $265k (before car purchase)
Liquid assets: $170k (the rest in retirement)
Debt: none (that took some doing)
Income: $85-100k (between jobs)
Age: 41
No alimony!
This doesn't count my signif other, who has good income, and just a bit of savings/retirement.

So far most posters are pretty conservative, with either high assets or income...
In my case, I'm not quite either!

Notice I posted in this forum, because the A4 is a relative bargain, and the A6 forum is just too sleepy. The A8 forum would be another class of car altogether. S4 buyers are the category I'm looking at: about $35-44k cars.
