Default does leaking F hose rob any performance? (ISTFA)

Istfa and it seems the f hose is related to the EGR system? What is that?

And someone posted in 2003 that they felt their car was stronger after fixing their f hose

Default The F-hose is attached to the intake manifold. The turbos pressurize the manifold.

Leaking F-hose = leak at the manifold = not good.
