Default Need advice on buying Catalytic Converter on 2002 s4 tiptronic

I found out my check engine light was on because I needed to replace 02 oxygen sensor and replace a Catalytic Converter. I did the 02 oxygen sensor already but not sure about what to do on Cat Converter. Dealer said parts will be around 1000 because they dont sell it separately. Is there anybody who has or knows where I can just get a Cat Converter for 02 s4 tiptronic? If not, can you guys give me some advice of what I should do.

thanks

Default I think New York too.

If my vehicle requires repairs, will the warranty on my vehicle cover the repairs?

Read the owner manual and other documents for your vehicle to get information about the warranty on the emissions control equipment. The vehicle manufacturer is required to warranty emissions failures for the first 2 years or 24,000 miles and specified major emission components for 8 years or 80,000 miles. If you have questions, contact the automobile dealer or the vehicle manufacturer.

NYS DMV

Default Re: take them out :-p

when they VAG 3 codes came out and that was one of them. Where do you get generic cats at? I went on ECSTUNING and I found they sell Universal Cat Converter for about 90 bucks. Are those reliable?
