Default Need a little advice on my suspension and wheel combo..

I recently just got 18x8 rims with a 33 offset and 225/40/18 tires. I also rolled my fenders(might be able to do better) and i just barely rub somewhere on the passenger side front on a slight left hand turn with a bump in the road on my hill. The previous owner installed mtm springs with stock shocks and struts(which i heard makes a terrible combo. My question is, if i install say bilsteins in there will that fix my problem or do i need to get something like vog gt's?

Default Its hard to say. Replace the stock struts with Bilstein Sports might help.

Especially if your stocks have reached the end of their life.

Default Why did you go with a CF M3 Lip? Does it really make that much weight difference?

I think springs by themselves lower the car more than a spring/shock combo, so if you put shocks on it might bring you up just enough to solve your problem, it could also stiffen you up a bit so that the bump doesn't cause you to rub...I could be talking out of my A@@ though

I have MTM springs with Bilstein Sports and the ECS CO collars and the car rides very well.

Default So my wheels were rubbing, I raised my car .5 inches and it no longer rubs, that doesn't fit

your statement

Default By that same thread then, given a large enough event, a stock car will rub

but the event would be along the lines of hitting a curb at full speed. And by raising my car 1/2 an inch, I no longer rub with me and my wife in the car over big dips, so while raising the car didn't "solve" my rubbing problem, it changed its threshold enough to be a moot issue.

And your mileage my vary, but lower does not equal better on most cars in terms of balance and optimal handling, so instead of the doctor telling me not to do something, he diagnosed and cured two problems with one solution (like got rid of a patients stomach ache by delivering her baby)
