oil isn't getting up to temp... i do a lot of highway driving and it seems to hover around 160

Default oil isn't getting up to temp... i do a lot of highway driving and it seems to hover around 160
unless i'm doing back-to-back WOT pulls... what could be causing this and how bad is it?

Bad oil temp sensor? Are you running an aftermarket oil cooler?

where are you located? subzero in MN, mine would only get up to the first notch

stock oil cooler... where is the oil temp sensor located?

i'm in NJ/CT... today was like 40 degrees and it was still only at 160ish

Default This happened to me when my thermostat failed...
They are supposed to fail open. Good luck.
