Opinions: Carbon Fibre Hood? - there is a method to my madness...
Heres the quick story.
There are rubber stoppers on the hood that avoids the front hood, under the gril from rubbing on the bumper. The rubber stopper on the driver side by the fender got pushed up over the past 5+ yrs from being slammed, so this is why it started happening. Common problem with our style of hood.
Enter the evil cancer that plagues cars. Rust!
The winter absolutely kicked my cars butt, now I got a nice rust spot on the hood down in that area.
Worth the repaint for $400 Cdn? - includes sand and rust proofing, BUT won't guarantee this happening again. The guy will redo my bumper too while hes at it to paint match.
Or thinking of going with carbon fibre which won't rust period? Still have the stone chips in the bumper.
Ideas?

I have had CF hood for 5+ years (painted). No Rust. If I were to do it again (more)
I would have gotten fiberglass hood and saved some coin, since it got painted anyway.
Also, look into the 3m covering to prevent chips on bumper....it's worked well for me in New England.

isn't there a 10 year rust guarantee or something?
